Should we have a standardized recruiting macro? i mean that way we all know what to say and can all be on the same page?

“Ni Hao. Are you a loaner? Outcast? Ninja? Have you been kicked out of every guild in Kargath? Then come join Ronin. We are actively seeking bossy, small-minded ass clowns with huge egos…. ‘Little Hitlers’ and Napoleon complexes a plus.”
agreed, but when i approach PUGS with good people, its very difficult to recruit, b/c most already have a guild. i was thinking more along the lines of recruiting some lowbies and help them grow to 60. then they help us and maybe bring people with then. sure we will get "whiners" but once they find out we aren't a "resource" or ATM they will be weeded out.

Jebus, Grey, that's frickin' hilarious. "Ni hao". LMAO.
I am cool with any members you want to recruit. If you want to use a macro to do it, great. All I'm saying is it's not my style. That probably means I'll recruit a little more slowly than average, but at least my heart is in the right place.
wehn i was using your style i brought 3 ppl to the guild the year i was with NR, Balt (IRL best freind) Kat (IRL best friend) and Damien (my brother) other than that, i recruited 0 players.
i was just thinking about other alternatives.

Wow, thats funny, I posted about this on another forum post:
I figure we could stuff that people do IRL but in game. We'de have to change it up, but we could figure something out. Like maybe go to a place we want to recruit, a good bunch of us and give out bandages or something. Or do something crazy like the Gnome Race!
Sure it's going to be hard, but it's always hard.
I posted two macro recruiting blurbs to the LFG channel on Sunday evening and got three members into the guild with it. Two of them have ended up being really cool people that will fit in here quite nicely.
I think if the macro is appropriate it will attract the right people. Many people are in guilds they are not happy with and would be wiling to try something new if it is marketed to them properly. Moreover, the council or paper GM (depending on how the meeting goes) will have the power to boot, so if we get some ass-clowns, you "like-to-have-a-title" types can earn your rank by monitoring that crap and booting ass-clowns.

I personally don't like the idea of using a macro. I'm not looking for just anyone to recruit. I'm looking for active players who will fit in to the fabric of our guild. Better to have 3 cool people, IMHO, than 30 whining freeloaders.
