Was thinking alot recently about exactly what I'd do with a Doomguard, and after reading a bunch of post on the subject, was thinking this may work...any thoughts?
1. Summon Voidwalker
2. Summon Doomguard
3. Use Demonic Sacrifice on Voidwalker to gain roughly +130 Health every 3 seconds
4. Cast Curse of Shadow on Doomguard
5. Enslave Doomguard
Notes: Demonic Sacrifice and Curse of Shadow are instant cast, so the Doomguard shouldn't be much of a problem before Enslavement. I'm spec'ed for Demonology, and recent tests on Demons found that I could keep something enslaved for about 15-20 minutes.
When Enslavement Breaks:
1. Re-establish Curse of Shadow
2. Banish
3. When Banish Breaks, re-Enslave
Notes:
Testing this on my Infernal and other demons, I found this extends the time I can hold on to the demon, usually extending it out 10 minutes. On average, I found using this method with the above Enslavement approach, I could keep the Infernal for almost 25 minutes, and Mob Demons for almost 35 minutes!
What this gives me:
A tank that hits really hard.
The +130-140 health every fourth seconds keeps me alive and bothersome.
Doomguard Attack Info:
Rain of Fire: 800 Dmg over 8 seconds
Dispel: Removes 1 Buff from Friendly or Hostile
Cripple: Decrease Movement by 60%, Decrease Melee Attack 20%
War Stomp: 160 Dmg to all enemines in a 8 Yard Radius, also Stuns for 2 sec
Possible Use in Party:
Powerful off-tank in parties lacking extra tanks
Combined with Warlock DPS in a 5 man, almost like having an extra player in group
Warlock becomes less of a healing burden (due to Demonic Sacrifice of VW and Major Healthstones)
Possible Weaknesses for Party Use:
Finding a party who is willing to sacrifice one player (although this shouldn't be too big of a deal if you have a healer, and you can always SS the healer)
The Enslavment\Re-enslavement could become a hassle in parties experiencing "issues" (i.e. PUGs, Run problems, etc)
Warlock consumes a lots of Shards through summoning, enslavement, etc. In lower instances (47 and below) the 'Lock would be unable to regain Soul Shards, and when combined with providing Healthstones and Soul Stones for the party, the 'Lock could run out of shards at an inopportune time

i like it, almost makes me want to switch to demonology, since i can only hold my enslaved demons for < 10 min.
